Automatic Import

This innovative import method uses AirPods or EarPods to capture your chats hands-free. We leverage iOS's built-in Voice Control features to help you capture images effortlessly. The app automatically takes screenshots and scrolls through the chat by communicating directly with the Voice Control engine, so you don't need to issue any commands yourself.

To import a chat, follow these steps:

• Import the TextKeep shortcut and set the default audio device to your AirPods/EarPods.
• Place your AirPods/EarPods near the bottom of your device where the microphone is located.
• Open the chat app and scroll to the section where you want to start scanning.
• Launch the shortcut, ensuring the environment is quiet and free from noises that could interfere with Automatic Voice Detection.
• The shortcut will prepare for scanning and will start taking screenshots of the chat when you're ready.
• To scroll, the shortcut will play the "Swipe up" or "Scroll down" sound, and the iOS Voice Control system will automatically move the chat.
• Capture continues hands-free for as long as you need.
• When the chat capture is complete, press the side Volume Down button, and the captured screenshots will be transferred to the main app.
• This will create a new Conversation Import that will be processed by AI and transformed into a TextKeep chat, which you can edit, search, update, export (PDF, CSV, TXT), or print.

You'll also receive a stacked version of the conversation, with all chats combined into one long vertical screenshot.

Tips for better imports

• Watch the video tutorial available on the import screen to better understand the process.
• Ensure the iOS Voice Control system is functioning by navigating to iOS Settings > Accessibility > Physical and Motor > Voice Control. Confirm that English is the active language, all Command Feedback settings are disabled, and Overlay is set to None.
• Use this in a quiet environment to ensure Voice Control works smoothly.
• Turn on Do Not Disturb during scanning to avoid unwanted notifications and sounds.
• While AirPods or EarPods produced the best results in our tests, you can use any external audio output device (wireless headphones, wireless speakers, etc.).
• Remove any chat background that might confuse the AI algorithm.
